During the survival skills session the children worked in small groups designing a shelter that could contain their own team. This task enabled the children to develop team work, communication and problem solving skills. Once completed they had to present their shelter to the rest of the groups pointing out the different features of their structure. They also had a turn at using a flint and steel to set cotton wool alight, in which everyone was successful in achieving.

"It was so much fun going down the zip wire, it slightly tricky being lowered off afterwards." Said Ashley Zach and Erin said "We really enjoyed the speed of flying down the zip wire." The 3G swing was all about team work. We had the challenge of pulling our friends to top and then having the courage to pull the release rope. It was a great feeling to fly through the air like the birds.
Vertical challengeThe vertical challenge presented maany difficulties for children which they all overcome. Finn said "the hardest part was climbing the ladder to get to the first beam." "I felt really proud of myself, when I reached the top of the climbing wall." Explained Esha "I was amazed how quickly Jake managed to climb to the top." Said by his friend Zac. "I found abseiling quite challenging and the hardest part was climbing over the bar at the top of the tower as it was really high. Also leaning backwards to ensure your feet were level." Explained Yousef Esha said "I really enjoyed doing little jumps down the tower and seeing how many jumps you could do it in." "I felt really proud of yourself when I completed the abseil."
