On our Year one visit to Sutton Courtenay Nature reserve, we spent time in the Sound garden playing on the different musical instruments. Majid stated it was fun playing on the musical bars. Maple Class spent their first session being wildlife detectives, exploring and observing the signs of nature within the woods. They found leaves that had been eaten by mini beasts, feathers and many footprints of different animals. During the session we spent time looking for mini beasts, Taqee found one of last year's baby common Newt, other finds were an Hawthorn Shield bug and a few worms and Woodlice.
Lime Class spent their morning pond dipping; they were lucky to find another common newt in the main pond. Other finds were water boatman, snails Dragonfly Larva and Waterlouse too. Both Classes swap over activities after lunch.
